Despite polling showing that the vast majority of the public support introducing more pro-life laws, many pro-life MPs face constant personal attacks from a small but loud minority of the public in an attempt to drive them out of their positions as MPs.

As you would expect, these MPs vote based on their deep conviction. For the most part, they were aware when they ran for office that holding such a public position meant that personal attacks on their character would be likely.

This month, Dr Lisa Cameron MP received a death threat to a family member following her vote to oppose a motion that seeks to deny women practical and emotional support outside abortion clinics from pro-life vigils (you can read more about this here). This is part of a long-term effort to have Dr Lisa Cameron deselected for her pro-life position on life issues.
