The remaining Peers who put their names down will have an opportunity to speak.
There are a large number of Peers scheduled to speak today who are opposing the Bill, including former BMA President, Baroness Finlay, the former President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Sheila Hollins, the former Deputy Prime Minister Baroness Coffey, Lord Gove, Lord Frost and Lord Moore.
If you’d like to follow today’s proceedings, you can watch the debate live from 10am on Parliament TV by clicking here.
As we did last week, throughout the day, our team will also be sharing video clips of the most important speeches, along with live commentary, on our X account. You can follow the updates here.
Thank you to everyone who shared video clips from our X account last week – together, those clips were viewed well over a million times! This plays a vital role in showing the public how damaging this Bill would be for vulnerable people in the UK – and in building support for its rejection in the House of Lords.
If you can keep sharing the clips we post tomorrow again, that would be much appreciated.
Also, a huge thank you to everyone who has already posted letters to Peers urging them to oppose the Bill. If you haven’t had the chance yet, there’s still time – as we need these letters to continue to arrive beyond Second Reading.
If you would like to send yours today, our EasyAction tool makes it quick and straightforward to do so. Click here to write your letters now.
