The Assisted Dying Bill will get nowhere

Most Peers have experienced a flood of letters and emails on The Assisted Dying Bill brought forward for a Second Reading last Friday. It is now over seventy years since I received my training to become a professional killer – that is as a fighter pilot. I never had to put that training into practice, but should it have been necessary to protect the people against our enemies I would have done so.

Despite that, I have made it plain that I oppose this Bill and but for my own old age and poor health I would have attended the debate to say so.
