Roe v Wade decision + assisted suicide debate

We just wanted to quickly share another excellent opinion piece written by Lord Alton in which he reflects on the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade:

You have likely seen many commentators in the UK decrying the overturning of Roe v Wade. In his piece, Lord Alton clears up many of the mistruths and misinformation that have been circulated about the decision.

We also wanted to share a new explainer piece we have written on the decision for our contacts in the media – this provides a simple outline of what has happened and also includes links to a number of other well-written opinion pieces on the case, along with videos of interviews that Dr Calum Miller has done on BBC World News, Talk TV and GB News:

This explainer piece should also be helpful for sharing with friends or for using as a starting point for any conversations that come up on the case.

TAKE ACTION – EMAIL YOUR MP

This coming Monday (4 July), MPs will debate assisted suicide in the House of Commons.

This Westminster Hall debate is an important opportunity for MPs to set out the arguments about why the law should not be changed to allow assisted suicide given the threat it poses to disabled and vulnerable people in particular.

The assisted suicide lobby is well-funded and well-organised, and they will do their best to fill the debate with advocates for assisted suicide.

We have launched an easy-to-use tool on our website that makes it simple for you to send an email to your MP asking them to oppose assisted suicide.

Please click the button below to contact your MP now. It only takes 30 seconds.
