More safeguards needed for at-home terminations

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the UK abortion lobby saw an enormous opportunity. On March 2 British Pregnancy Advisory Service pounced, writing to Matt Hancock, who was health secretary, demanding that the presumption should be that abortions should now take place without a woman ever leaving home.

The abortion lobby had wanted this change of policy for some time but cynically used the pandemic to pressure the government to provide temporary approval.
