‘Living proof that you should never, ever give up’: Young mum considered ‘trip to Dignitas’ after second devastating cancer diagnosis – but now her outlook has changed

A young mum battling cancer who considered euthanasia at her lowest point has shared her astonishing transformation after receiving specialist treatment.

Estelle Wignall, 27, from Wigan, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer four years ago after constantly feeling bloated and tired.

Her symptoms became so bad that she was rushed to hospital.

While her doctors initially believed she had IBS, she says she knew right away that something wasn’t right.

“I picked up a leaflet in hospital about ovarian cancer and I immediately diagnosed myself,” Estelle explains.

“But everyone told me not to be so stupid because I was only 22 years old.

“People said I was being a hypochondriac. Nobody took me seriously – but I just knew. It was an instinct.”
