Right To Life UK are hiring for a number of positions

Right To Life UK is a charitable organisation focused on life issues – abortion, assisted suicide and embryo research. We protect and defend the right to life of every human being from conception to natural death through our work across education, politics, the media and through a large network of people in constituencies across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The abortion lobby are planning to bring forward legislation that will remove almost all existing legal safeguards around abortion in England and Wales.

We will be facing the biggest battle on abortion since 1967.

Right To Life UK is looking for hard-working, passionate, professional individuals to join us to ensure we have the team in place to defeat these proposals. The team will then move onto a large push across media, operations and development to deliver positive changes to policy and culture which will save lives and support women in unplanned pregnancies.

Action alert – Govt introducing DIY abortions – email your MP now

The UK Government have announced that they have given in to the abortion lobby and made the biggest change to abortion provision since 1967: introducing telemedicine abortions where ‘DIY’ abortions will be performed at home by women on themselves without a doctor or other medical professional present.

The very substantial change has been announced without any public consultation, parliamentary scrutiny or debate.

Previously, abortions could only take place in hospitals or abortion clinics approved by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. Under the new temporary policy, doctors will be able to prescribe abortion pills (mifepristone and misoprostol) over the phone or video (e.g. Facetime or Skype).

Women will then perform their own abortion at home by taking both abortion pills, meaning they will be left to deliver their own dead unborn child at home without direct medical supervision. The Department of Health and Social Care made it very clear last week that this was a dangerous change to the law which would likely make it much easier for women to be forced into an abortion by an abusive partner.

Sadly the Government have now given in to the demands of the abortion lobby and they are going ahead with this.

We need to ensure that it is clear to the Government that the public are very upset about this decision and that it should be revoked as soon as possible.

Please click the text below to email your MP asking them to urgently raise this with the Government.

Once you have emailed your MP, please do let friends and family know to email their MP too.

Thank you for your help on this.

Pro-abortion plot to hijack Coronavirus Bill fails

We just wanted to update you with some very good news.

In our last update we mentioned that the abortion lobby were going to be bringing forward amendments to the Coronavirus Bill in the House of Lords to use it to make very big changes to abortion provision.

These amendments were brought forward by pro-abortion peers in the Lords. One amendment would have reduced the number of doctors who sign off on an abortion from two to one, along with allowing midwives and nurses to also sign off on terminations. The other would have introduced home ‘DIY’ abortions, the second attempt this week by the abortion lobby to achieve this. If the amendments had been accepted, this would have been the biggest change to abortion provision since 1967.

Thankfully the Government came out strongly against the amendments making it clear that it was totally inappropriate to be making such a monumental and divisive change to abortion law as an amendment to a fast-tracked piece of legislation designed to save lives from Coronavirus.

Thank you again to our supporters around the country who made contact with their MPs this week urging them to put pressure on the Government to not accept these amendments. This helped make it much easier for the Government to hold strong against the abortion lobby’s demands.

The abortion lobby are again furious about the Government not giving in on this and we expect to see them back exploiting the Coronavirus crisis again once Parliament is back on April 21st.

Action Alert – UK Govt announces extreme abortion regime for NI – email your MLAs

Despite the fact that Stormont reconvened on 11 January 2020 and we are in the middle of a world crisis dealing with Coronavirus, the UK Government have just announced that they will proceed with imposing an extreme abortion regime on Northern Ireland, with immediate effect, today. Abortions under the new regime will be starting in Northern Ireland next month.

To add insult to injury, they have taken what Parliament asked them to impose on Northern Ireland and made it far worse, meaning that Northern Ireland will have one of the most extreme abortion regimes in the world.

We understand the stress being caused by the Coronavirus, but sadly the political process hasn’t stopped and the Conservative Government have decided to proceed with introducing this extreme abortion regime.

We need to ensure that there is immediate pressure on Northern Ireland MLAs and MPs to take the following steps:

  1. Ensure that the Northern Ireland Department of Health will prioritise dealing with the Coronavirus crisis and not divert any time and resources, which are critical to saving lives, during this crisis.
  2. Seek an urgent Assembly debate and vote, in which the Assembly: a) makes it clear that it rejects these regulations and b) calls on the Westminster Parliament not to pass them.
  3. That new legislation is introduced to Stormont to repeal this extreme abortion regime as soon as possible.

If you are from Northern Ireland, we have set up an email tool which will allow you to send an email with these key asks to your MLAs right now. It only takes 30 seconds. Please click the button below to send it now.

The email tool is part of a wider Save Lives: Repeal campaign that we have launched today to ensure that this extreme abortion regime is repealed as soon as possible.

If you are not from Northern Ireland, you can help get the word out by:

  • adding the campaign frame to your profile picture on Facebook
  • sharing campaign posts and images on social media
  • encouraging friends and family in Northern Ireland to email their MLAs

Many lives are at stake so we need to ensure this extreme abortion regime is repealed as soon as possible. Anything you can do to get the word out will help.
