On Tuesday, members started working their way through a list of almost 300 amendments. Navigating this many potential changes is no mean feat, especially with such a complex piece of legislation.
The committee has an unenviable task and is under more pressure than usual with time in this parliament ebbing away. Readers might know I opposed the bill at stage one. Personally, I believe the NHS and other institutions should work night and day to prevent any and all deaths, reflecting the vital truth that everybody in Scotland is worthy of care and protection in any circumstance.
