We just wanted to let you know that Peers have just finished debating the abortion buffer zone clause in the Public Order Bill.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to email Peers asking them to speak in opposition to introducing buffer zones in the debate this evening.
Peers from a number of different parties and different viewpoints on the wider issue of abortion lined up to highlight a series of serious issues with introducing buffer zones around abortion clinics nationwide.
The Bill will now proceed to Report Stage where there will likely be votes on a number of amendments that have been tabled to limit the buffer zone clause in the Bill. I will keep you updated on developments with this as the Bill proceeds.
COMMONS DEBATE THIS MONDAY – TAKE ACTION
On Monday MPs will debate introducing extreme changes to our abortion laws in a Westminster Hall debate on whether to introduce a ‘right’ to abortion into UK law.
It is vital that as many MPs as possible speak in strong opposition to introducing extreme changes to our abortion laws in the debate on Monday.
We have launched an easy-to-use tool on our website that makes it simple for you to send an email to your MP asking them to oppose introducing extreme changes to our abortion law ahead of the debate.
