As you may have seen in the media, Lord Falconer and other assisted suicide campaigners are now lobbying MPs to try to use the Parliament Acts to bypass the House of Lords and force the assisted suicide Bill into law in the next Parliamentary session.
Taking this route would be unprecedented and profoundly inappropriate.
It would be the first time ever that the Parliament Acts were used for a Private Members’ Bill – and polling published this week confirms that the public does not support this approach.

Assisted suicide pressure group, Dignity in Dying, is currently flooding MPs’ inboxes with emails urging them to back this attempt to bypass the House of Lords and force this dangerous bill into law.
It is vital that MPs also hear from constituents who do not support this – and that they must oppose it.
