As you will have likely seen, we are currently facing a major assault from the abortion lobby, led by the UK’s largest abortion provider, the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), which ends the lives of over 70,000 babies each year.
BPAS posted abortion pills to a woman who was pregnant with her baby, Lily, who was between 32 and 34 weeks gestation, without conducting an ultrasound scan or a physical examination to accurately determine the gestation of the baby.
If BPAS had seen this woman in person, the actual gestation of the baby would have been identified, meaning the abortion could not have taken place and this tragedy would have been averted.
BPAS put this woman’s life in danger and caused the death of baby Lily at over 32 weeks gestation, which is around 7-8 months.
But instead of taking responsibility for this tragic outcome, BPAS are shamelessly using this case to call for a radical change to our abortion legislation.
BPAS have made their intentions clear – they want abortion on demand, for any reason, up to birth – and they want to see this law change made as soon as possible.
NEW PARLIAMENTARY YEAR
The new Parliamentary year starts in November and we are expecting pro-abortion MPs, backed by BPAS, to try to hijack a Government Bill and force through a major change to our abortion laws that would allow abortion up to birth.
We know that BPAS are spending huge amounts of money to boost their lobbying and campaigning efforts to achieve this drastic change.
BPAS have a budget of over £35 million each year, which they use to perform abortions and to lobby for more extreme abortion laws. They also have the support of 23 other organisations, who are joining them in this campaign, and who have collective funding that runs into the tens of millions of pounds.
The stakes could not be higher.
I am not exaggerating when I say this. A similar law was passed in New Zealand in 2020 by the then Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern’s Government, and that country saw a 43% increase in late-term abortions in the same year.
If this law change goes ahead, so many more lives would be lost to abortion. We cannot afford to do nothing while so many innocent lives are in danger.
WE CAN ONLY DEFEAT THIS MAJOR THREAT WITH YOUR HELP
We can stop the abortion lobby, but only with your help.
Thanks to your support, in 2021 a major attempt to hijack the UK Government’s flagship Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill with an amendment to introduce abortion up to birth failed, in a major pro-life victory.
But as you have seen, we will again be facing another big challenge from the abortion lobby in the next parliamentary year.
Our fight against the abortion lobby this year has already drained a lot of Right To Life UK’s scarce resources.
To fill this gap and ensure we can effectively stop this radical law change, we are aiming to raise at least £100,000 by midnight this Sunday 1 October 2023.
We are, therefore, appealing to you to please give as generously as you can. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference in saving the lives of the unborn and many others.
By stopping these threats, YOU can save lives over this coming period.
Will you make a special gift right now to help protect vulnerable lives from this major threat?
Thank you for standing with us to defend the thousands of precious lives that are in danger during this crucial time.
