On Tuesday 23rd October, Diana Johnson MP brought forward a Ten Minute Rule Bill that was seeking to impose abortion on Northern Ireland and remove many of the current legal safeguards around abortion provision in England and Wales. The motion passed by 208 to 123 votes. As it was a Ten Minute Rule Motion, it is very unlikely it will be given further time by the Government to be debated in Parliament. It even less likely that it will become law.
