Next Week: Two Debates Relevant To The Right To Life
Next Wednesday, the 11th of November, RTL Executive Officer Peter D. Williams will be taking part in a debate at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, ‘How Many Do You See?’, on the nature and moral status of the unborn child.
Joining Peter on the right-to-life side will be Daniel Rodger of the Life Training Institute, and opposing them will be Prof. Jo Bridgeman (Professor of healthcare law & Feminist ethics at the University of Sussex), and Dr. Jeremy Williams (Research Fellow in moral and political philosophy at the University of Birmingham).
Details of the event are available in the poster below, or on Facebook here.
In Oxford two days before this, Monday the 9th of November, another debate will be taking place at Christ Church’s Blue Boar Lecture Theatre, ‘This House opposes the legalisation of assisted suicide’, organised by Oxford Students For Life.
On the proposition side will be Dr. Kevin Yuill of the No To Assisted Suicide campaign (author of Assisted Suicide: The Liberal, Humanist Case Against Legalisation and senior lecturer in American History at Sunderland University), and former general surgeon Dr. Peter Saunders of Care Not Killing. On the opposition side will be consultant radiologist Dr. Jacky Davis of Health Professionals for Assisted Dying (consultant radiologist), and retired palliative consultant Dr. Richard Scheffer of Dignity in Dying (formerly, the Voluntary Euthanasia Society).
Details of the event are available in the poster below, or else on Facebook here.
If in Brighton or Oxford on either of those days, do come along for what should be two fascinating debates!
