Ice hockey player promised to pay woman $3 million to have an abortion

Canadian professional ice hockey player, Evander Kane, has been accused of promising to pay a woman $3 million to get an abortion.

The ice hockey player who plays for the San Jose Sharks is being sued by a woman for $6 million after Kane allegedly promised to pay $3 million for an abortion. After the woman, Hope Parker, had the abortion, Kane refused to give her the promised amount.

Parker aborted three of her unborn children with Kane, and according to bankruptcy court documents, Kane paid her $125,000 for the second abortion.

$125,000 for the second abortion and $3 million for the third

After the first and second abortions, Parker didn’t want to have another one and said Kane began “bullying” her before offering $3million to have a third abortion. Parker said she had the abortion in June 2018 but Kane never paid her the money.

Kane’s lawyer called the women’s claims “baseless both factually and legally”.

The bankruptcy judge in the case, Stephen Johnson described the case:

“[The] Plaintiff (Parker) was unwilling to terminate the third pregnancy until Defendant (Kane) offered her two to three million dollars to do so”, Johnson wrote.

“Then, on June 13, 2018, [Parker] sent [Kane] a text message of her lab results, which confirmed she had terminated the third pregnancy. When [Parker] requested [Kane] update her on the status of her payment, [Kane], for the first time, told [Parker] he was not going to pay her, stating: ‘I’ll have my lawyer contact you, I’m not dealing with this any further then’.”

Johnson commented: “I can infer from the complaint that Plaintiff falsely said he would pay … to abort the third pregnancy, and that he did so to deceive (her) into actually undergoing that abortion.”

Right To Life UK spokesperson, Catherine Robinson, said: “We should all be shocked by this dark deal by a man apparently willing to pay a huge sum of money to escape the responsibilities of fatherhood by aborting his own child. The horror here is not that he refused to pay. It is what he was paying for, whether or not the transaction was ever completed”..”

“For those of us who recognise and respect the life of the child in the womb, this case is deeply sad and wrong regardless of the sum of money and regardless of whether or not it was paid”.

Dear reader,

Earlier this year, abortion campaigners brought forward an amendment to the UK Government’s flagship Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill that would have introduced abortion on demand, for any reason, up to birth (including sex-selective abortion).

Thanks to the support from people like you, this amendment did not go to a vote and pass, but we expect the abortion lobby to make another attempt to introduce this extreme abortion law change shortly.

This would be the single biggest change to abortion legislation since 1967 and would leave England and Wales with one of the most extreme abortion laws in the world.

Please sign the petition to Boris Johnson, asking him to ensure that his Government does everything in its power to stop the introduction of abortion up to birth.
