Leave a gift in your Will

By leaving a gift for Right To Life in your Will, you can significantly support our campaigning and charitable work. If you already have one, you can make an amendment, or if you don’t, we can provide you with any guidance that you may require on having a new Will written.

Make a new will

You will generally need to visit a local solicitor to get your new Will written up. Guidance on making a will is provided by the Government here. You will need to ask your solicitor to include wording similar to the wording options we have included below which will outline your gift to Right To Life. If you have any questions or need basic (non-legal) guidance on the process for setting up a Will, please call us over the phone (+44 (0)1732 460911), by email (info@righttolife.org.uk).

We’ve put together this easy to use Will Planner which should help guide you through the process.

Already have a will?

Great! If you already have a Will and want to leave a legacy gift to Right To Life, all you have to do is make a Codicil to your Will. This is latin for ‘amend’. Speak to your solicitor about making a simple amendment to your existing Will, and they will guide you through it. That’s it! If you need any guidance on this, please give us a call (+44 (0)1732 460911) or email us at (info@righttolife.org.uk) and we’ll answer any of your questions.

If you do decide to leave a gift to Right To Life in your Will, there are three options:

  • A share in your estate
  • A specific sum
  • A specific item

Your Will is one of the most important legal documents you can make. Once you have decided what kind of gift you want to leave to Right To Life, it would be really helpful if you could ask your solicitor to use one of the following texts:

For a share of your estate (residuary legacy)

I give all/a share of (please state fraction/ percentage) of the residue of my estate absolutely to the Right To Life Charitable Trust of PO Box 542, Tunbridge Wells, TN2 9TS, United Kingdom, Registered Charity Number 1099319, to be applied by the Right To Life Charitable Trust for its charitable purposes, and I further direct that the receipt of the Hon. Treasurer or any other officer of the Right To Life Charitable Trust for the time being shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.

For a specific sum (pecuniary legacy)

I give to the Right To Life Charitable Trust of PO Box 542, Tunbridge Wells, TN2 9TS, United Kingdom, Registered Charity Number 1099319, absolutely, the sum of (amount in figures, amount in words) to be applied by the Right To Life Charitable Trust for its charitable purposes, and I further direct that the receipt of the Hon. Treasurer or any other officer of the Right To Life Charitable Trust for the time being shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.

For a specific item

I give to Right To Life Charitable Trust of PO Box 542, Tunbridge Wells, TN2 9TS, United Kingdom, Registered Charity Number 1099319, absolutely, (write in here whatever you wish to give) to be applied by the Right To Life Charitable Trust for its charitable purposes, and I further direct that the receipt of the Hon. Treasurer or any other officer of the Right To Life Charitable Trust for the time being shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.

You have no obligation to tell us if you leave a gift to Right To Life, but if you’re happy to, it will help us plan our future work and we will of course keep your decision confidential.
